Brits still holidaying in Egypt

Brits are undeterred about holidaying in Egypt
Most Britons would still holiday in Egypt despite the recent terrorist attack on a Red Sea resort.

An online poll shows that more then 70 per cent of Britons would not be put off travelling to the north African country.

Last month a bomb in the backpacker resort of Dahab killed 23 people and injured more than 60.

The attack came less than a year after 11 Britons were among the 64 people killed in an attack on the main Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

More than 5,500 of the 8,000 people polled by ShermansTravel.co.uk said they would be prepared to holiday in Egypt.

"We are somewhat surprised by the results of the survey," said Dale Lovell, editorial director at ShermansTravel.co.uk.

"The bombings were so recent that we would have expected the numbers saying no to a holiday in Egypt to be higher.

"That said, however, there was a general feeling from respondents that the terrorists should not be allowed to win and that we should holiday wherever we want."

The poll shows that many Britons feel they are just as likely to be caught up in a terrorist attack in London as in Egypt. XXX
