The Gambia entry requirements
British nationals do not need a visa to enter The Gambia, but visitors should ensure there is at least three months' validity left on their passports.
For stays of longer than 28 days, permission should be obtained from the Gambian Immigration Department, which is based in Banjul.
There is a £5 'tourist tax' which is payable by visitors entering The Gambia at Banjul airport.
The Gambia health
Travellers should ensure they are covered by comprehensive travel insurance. It is recommended this includes rescue by air ambulance.
Precautions against mosquitoes should be taken because of the risk of malaria.
