Peru travel advice

Peru entry requirements
British, US, Canadian, Australian, South African, New Zealand and Irish nationals do not require a visa to visit Peru as a tourist for up to 90 days. Travellers must be able to show a passport that is valid for at least six months after arrival, as well as return or onward tickets and proof of funds.

Health in Peru
Tap water is unsafe to drink. Current inoculation requirements should be discussed with a GP.

Malaria is present in areas of Peru apart from Lima, the coastal areas south of Lima, the highland tourist areas (Cusco, Machu Picchu, and Lake Titicaca) and the departments of Arequipa, Moquegua, Puno and Tacna.

Travellers should not travel to Peru without comprehensive medical insurance.
