Indonesia travel advice

Indonesia entry requirements
British citizens need a tourist visa when travelling to Indonesia. If arriving in one of the main air or sea ports, tourists can buy a 30 day visa for $25. If you are not arriving at one of these points, the visa must be organised beforehand. Details can be gathered from the Indonesian embassy in London.

Ensure you keep hold of your arrival card, which you are presented with when entering the country, as this will be needed when leaving.

Indonesia health
Travellers should ensure they are covered by comprehensive travel insurance, which should include the eventuality of needing medical evacuation, as local facilities can be poor.

Your GP should be consulted regarding vaccinations before travelling to Indonesia.

Health conditions in areas damaged by the Boxing Day Tsunami have been badly affected, especially the water supplies.

Official Indonesia travel advice
Parts of Indonesia are susceptible to political unrest, which can make some regions unsafe for travel. For up-to-date and official travel advice on Indonesia see the Foreign Office website at www.fco.gov.uk
