Parts of Indonesia are still recovering from the Boxing Day Tsunami, but the country remains a popular tourist spot, with most travellers saying natural disasters would not put them off travelling to south-east Asia.
Made up of a mind-boggling 17,000 islands, 6,000 of which are inhabited, Indonesia is culturally one of the most diverse in the world, with contrastingly traditional areas and scenery, many temples and more than 300 regional languages.
