Bulgaria is an up-and-coming country, with many regenerative changes afoot. While there are still plenty of villages that look like they are from a different era, Bulgaria is gradually urbanising and modernising, especially in its capital, Sofia. It is a prime destination for hiking and is surprisingly good for beaches.
