Many England fans will be wanting to sample German beer
Last week's draw for World Cup 2006 in Germany revealed that the England football team will be playing their group matches in Frankfurt, Nuremberg and Cologne.
England fans hoping to follow their team in Germany should waste no time in making their travel arrangements for the World Cup games against Paraguay, Trinidad & Tobago and Sweden.
Even if you cannot get tickets for the games, World Cup 2006 matches will be shown on big screens across the country, and the cities of Frankfurt, Nuremberg and Cologne have much to offer even without the football.
England vs Paraguay, June 10th 2006, Frankfurt
England kick-off their World Cup 2006 campaign in Frankfurt – known as "Mainhattan" for its skyline of skyscrapers. Set on the river Main, the city possesses a rich collection of historic buildings alongside the modern skyscrapers. The cosy atmosphere of the Sachsenhausen pub district is worth a visit, while the 'Zeil' shopping district is a great place for some retail therapy.
Outside of the city, the Rheingau region is famed for its white wines, the towns of Rudesheim and Bingen, and the famous Loreley rock upon which, according to legend, a blond siren lured sailors on the Rhine to their doom with her singing and enigmatic beauty.

The city's most famous attraction is its Gothic cathedral, which took 600 years to build has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1998. Cologne also boasts 12 Romanesque churches, its own style of beer-brewing and the Imhoff-Stollwerck Chocolate Museum, which is a firm favourite with both adults and children alike. For shopaholics, there are numerous trendy boutiques, elegant department stores, second-hand and vintage shops and international designers.
