Barcelona: 2nd in the list for city breaks
Millions of Brits are sticking with where they know best this summer and holidaying in Spain.
Three of the top five beach destinations for easyJet passengers this summer are in Spain, while the country's two most famous cities are in the top five destinations for city breaks.
Top of the beach destinations is Malaga, in the heart of the Costa del Sol, where over 1.5 million easyJet passengers will be flying this summer.
Alicante, on the Costa Blanca, is second with 1.1 million UK passengers heading there, while Palma on the Spanish island of Majorca is in fourth place.
As for city breaks, the Catalan capital of Barcelona is the second placed destination with 1.1 million Brits taking a flight there, while half a million Brits are heading to the Spanish capital of Madrid in fifth place.
The cool canals of Amsterdam, Holland, are the top city break choice for two million Brits, while Geneva and Prague are third and fourth on the list.
Nice on the French Cote d'Azur was third on the list of top five beach destinations, and Faro on Portugal's Algarve was fifth.
easyJet's Jamie Wortley said: "Whilst more and more British holiday makers are travelling to new and exciting destinations from Sardinia to Poland, it appears that the old favourites such as Spain and France still remain the top summer choice amongst Brits."
