The festival attracts up-and-coming talent in its droves, and thousands of members of the public make their way to the city to see what is on in the ten day festival, which is spread across several venues, including the Arts Court Theatre and a number of university buildings.

Fans of flora would be mad to miss the Tulip Festival in May, when Ottawa is covered in the flowers, a tradition going back to 1945 when the Dutch royal family sent the city 100,000 tulips as a gift. As well as splendid flower displays, there are concerts and events. In the past, artists such as Alanis Morissette have performed at the festival.
