If you are a jazz aficionado and in Montreal in June and July, you will be in heaven at the International Jazz Festival. Top international jazz performers descend on the city for 150 concerts all over town. It features the talents of BB King, Paul Simon, Maceo Parker and young upstart Jamie Cullum. There is also music from other genres, from the likes of Elvis Costello.

Pets cower under beds every weekend in July, when Le Mondial SAQ comes to the city. A series of spectacular fireworks competitions take place across the city, setting the sky alight and attracting millions of spectators every year.
