One of the biggest dates in the electronic music lover's diary is the Miami Winter Music Conference. Towards the end of March every year, Miami becomes a haven for industry big-wigs, established names and young upstarts trying to make their name in dance music, and the all night boat and beach parties have turned the festival into a major festival fixture.

For festivals, March is really the time to visit Miami, as for two weeks the Carnaval Miami takes over much of the city, with the Hispanic population putting on a stunningly colourful show of parades, markets, food, parties and live music.
