Every two years the Energex Brisbane Festival offers three weeks of cultural entertainment. With the cream of Queensland's talent on display, visitors can enjoy the orchestral, ballet, theatre and dance extravaganzas.

Brisbane's Gay Pride Festival in June attracts more than 25,000 people for a range of exhibitions, street parades, sports events and the somewhat less than regal and staid Queens Birthday Ball.

Brisbane International Film Festival in July and August features ten days of the finest filmic output to have come from Australia and Asia-Pacific.
