Dortmund's Westfalen Hall is one of the biggest convention centres in Europe, and is a great place to go for a spot of ice-skating and concerts
Dortmund has an extensive mining history, and the Zollern Colliery is one of the few remaining relics from Dortmund's industrial era. It has been incorporated into the Westphalien Industrial Museum, and is well worth a visit to get your head around the scale of some of the machinery that was used
