Wellington, with its harbour-front views, vibrant cafe culture and nightlife, is New Zealand's cultural capital. The city's compact size makes it perfect for wandering the streets and enjoying the atmosphere.
The country's political capital, Wellington is also home to the national museum of New Zealand - Te Papa - where visitors will find an insight into all things "Kiwi".
For the best views over the city and harbour take a drive up to the top of Mount Victoria or a ride on the city's bright red Cable Car from Lambton Quay up to the Botanic Gardens.
