Dismiss Hanover at your peril. It may be home to countless trade fairs thanks to its enormous exhibition centre, but there is a whole lot more to this green and medieval city.

The pace of life in Hanover is as laid back as you want it to be, whether you choose to visit one of the city's museums, enjoy a whirl round the shops or take a stroll through one of Hanover's many green spaces.

Holidaymakers in Hanover should be sure to take some time out to visit Eilenriede Forest, a mass of woodland and adventure trails in the middle of the city.

Also, no stay in Hanover is complete without a visit to Herrenhausen Gardens, which feature impressive botanical regal tributes, baroque gardens and regular events and parties, especially in the summer.
