Brussels is sometimes wrongly maligned as being purely the destination of choice for politicians and eurocrats, and has much more to offer than just the corridors of power.
Trendy bars sit alongside grand baroque buildings, small cosy restaurants serve simple, yet delicious Belgian and French food, while there is also a wealth of artistic interests for the tourist to admire.
It is also ideally placed for nature lovers who wish to enjoy days spent walking through immaculate forests, after which you can sample some fine, frothy Belgian beers in one of the city's warm, wood-panelled pubs.
