Getting around Berlin

Wednesday, 16 Aug 2006 11:39
There are plenty of ways to get around Berlin. The overground S-Bahn goes to most places in the city, as does the mainly underground U-Bahn.

The tram system operates primarily in former east Berlin, while buses cover the whole city.

One ticket will cover all these services, and while there is no scanning, do not be tempted to avoid buying tickets as there are plain clothes inspectors who will dish out steep fines to those who have not got a valid ticket.
