Getting around Antwerp

Monday, 14 Aug 2006 17:24
Antwerp boasts a city centre that is 20 per cent traffic free, and during the summer festivities pedestrians are given priority.

Buses and trams: Another convenient way to get around the city is by bus or tram. Tickets are around a fifth cheaper when bought in advance from newspaper shops, supermarkets, ticket dispensers at stops and tourist offices.

When bought in advance individal tickets cost €1.20 euros for 60 minutes travel, or €5 for a 24 hour travelcard. A 10-ride card costs €8.

The two major bus terminals in the city are Centraal Station and Rooseveltplaats.
