Ghent

Short breaks in Ghent
With its roots firmly grounded in the medieval period, Ghent is a forward looking and cosmopolitan city – presenting its historical wonders in a modern setting. The traffic free city centre makes for an ideal short break destination – filled with couples gentling strolling among the dozens of pavement cafes.

The town itself is divided into the historic centre and artistic quarter, both of which are of interest to travellers. In the centre, Graslei is home to St Michaels Church, the Guildhall and School of Yesteryear, while over in Kouter guests will find the Handelsbeurs concert hall and the magnificent opera house.

In the arts quarter of Ghent, the city museum can be found in Bijloke while Citadelpark is filled with botanic richness.

The closest airport to the city is Zaventem Brussel Airport.
