Innsbruck is one of the best cities to head to if you fancy hitting the slopes in Austria. Surrounded by nearby mountainous ranges and with a wealth of accommodation in the city to cheaply house you during the ski season, it allows many to go on the piste without spending the cash on a resort holiday.

Innsbruck is an ideal place to visit to get a flavour olde worlde Austria, with beautifully cobbled streets and rustic, authentic Austrian food. There are also some dramatic sights to take in at Ambras Castle, which also hosts a number of spectacular concerts.
